Get RNIYC ready!
We are delighted to announce that the RS400 fleet will be returning to the prestigious Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club for the for the Noble Marine RS400 Eurocup incorporating the UK and Irish National Championships 2025!
Last visited by the RS400s in 2019, with a fantastic 54 boat-fleet, who enjoyed the warm welcome, fantastic sailing waters, excellent race management and superb clubhouse. The Championship was won by Nick Craig and Toby Lweis, with a good mix of Irish, English and Scottish boats in the top 10 - for more detail and an insight into the racing environment, have a look at Matt Sheahan's report and the results table here. We've heard that a good number of the 2019 entrants plan to return in 2025, which says it all!
Schedule
As seasoned RS400 Nationals sailors will know, the fun starts on the Sunday, with a complimentary welcome supper. The bar will most certainly be open!
Racing will take place from Monday 4th August-Friday 5th August
Full details to follow in NoR
Social Programme
Anyone who has sailed at the RS400 Nationals in the past will note that the fleet socials are (almost) as important as the sailing! RNIYC are renowned for their warm welcome, fantastic food and all round good craic.

Wednesday 6th - Class AGM and chill out evening
Thursday 7th - Gala Dinner and late bar
Friday 8th - Championship Prizegiving, with food available and late bar
Travel
The club event brochure has a wealth of information about the location of the club, ferry routes and timings.
We have been in touch with specialists Nut Travel, recommended by RNIYC, who can often arrange ferry crossings at a significant discount vs direct booking. They have said that their rates will be out in Sept/October and asked sailors to quote 'RS400 Eurocup' when contacting them via [email protected]
We are also hoping to get a discount code from Irish Ferries and potentially Stena, but have been advised that these won't be available until later in the year.
Accommodation
There is hotel, bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation in Holywood, Belfast (4 miles) and Bangor (7 miles). See google maps for the location of stations on the trainline which runs close to the club.
There is limited space for camping and campervans at the club, and at a camp site 3 minutes walk away - we will be asking you to book this with your entry. The full facilities of the club will be accessible at all times.
We are also hoping to bulk book Lorne Estate, which is close to the club and has a variety of affordable accommodation options. Detaisl to follow.
The North Down Borough Council'sTourist Information Service have agreed to partner with the club in the run up to the event.
Add your name to the 'Intend to Race' list - you know you want to!
Note - if you are unable to add your name (e.g. because you haven't registered on this site, please email Sally with your name and sail number and we will add you to the list)
