Did you know the RS Class Association own two demo boats for prospective sailors to try the RS400?
One boat is currently based at Warsash and available to book now for demo sails. The other is in Scotland and will be available again after the Nationals, though should you be wanting to try the RS400 with a view to buying one to enter the Nationals at East Lothian, we can probably arrange a demo sail for you somehow!
Richard Candlin sailed the demo at the windy Warsash Rooster West Country Boat Repairs Southern Tour event and had this feedback:
"My helms and I had an eventful time at the RS400 event in Warsash. The winds were strong for novice 400 sailors and even some of the regulars at the events decided it was too much!
We managed a race each day before retiring due to the conditions and have two days of aches to recover from and good experiences to cherish too! I will get more RS400 experience, in more benign conditions to build up confidence.
It was good to try out a class of dinghy I have not sailed before and very different from the boats I sail week in, week out. Thank you."
Becky Moss also enjoyed her sail,
"We really enjoyed our sail on the RS400 demo boat, even though we spent a fair bit of time swimming! Without the opportunity to borrow the demo boat we wouldn’t have easily been able to try this particular class. The process for hiring was easy and Andy was helpful throughout, from initial contact, to offering excellent advice on rigging the boat, derigging and some tips on what to try to avoid swimming so much next time. Thanks!"
