I had a great meeting at East Lothian YC regarding the RS400 Nationals 2013 last week. I had forgotten what a fabulous club house it is, with such friendly members, in such a nice town.
We spoke about all aspects of the event, including racing and socials. You can look forward to a great event, from 4-8 August, and details will be on the RS400 website very soon, with the entry form.
There has been some talk about a lack of accommodation, so we thought we would investigate that as a priority, starting with camping.
Of the 3 campsites local to ELYC, Gilsland has closed down.
Tantallon Caravan and Campsite, http://www.meadowhead.co.uk/TantallonHome.aspx is around 20 min walk or 5 min cycle from the club. Very friendly, with brilliant views over the sailing area and Bass Rock. If you are interested they currently have 10 pitches left, so do not delay!
Yellowcraig Caravan Club is just 3 miles away, but is currently closed for the winter. Put a note in your diary for 22/3/13 when they open if you want to book there. 01620 850217.
We are checking out the availability of other non-camping accommodation options, but there is plenty of choice in this holiday destination, so we do not see this as being an issue.
