Rooster to sponsor RS200 and RS400 National Championships

The RS Class Association are delighted to announce Rooster as title sponsors of the RS200 and RS400 National Championships.

Florence Hale, Rooster’s Events and Sponsorship Coordinator said “We are very excited to be supporting both the RS200 and RS400 National Championships this year. Rooster and The RS Class Association have a long-standing relationship, ranging from supporting of events such as the RS National Tour, to the RS Games, and many other events during the year. There will be some amazing prizes up for grabs and some great racing to be had all round!“

To celebrate the sponsorship, all boats entered the events by 31st March will be entered into a draw to win a Rooster 90l carry all for both helm and crew, a fantastic prize worth £250!  There will be one draw for each fleet.  On top of this every sailor entered by 31st March will receive an event-branded 10l Rooster dry bag, in recognition of Rooster’s view that every sailor should benefit from the sponsorship.

Class Secretary Sally Campbell said “The RS Class Association have an excellent relationship with Rooster, who already sponsor our Rooster National Tour, so this sponsorship was a natural next step. As well as fabulous prizes for the Nationals, we’re pleased that Rooster will be extending their support to all Class Association members, details were sent to all member with their membership renewals.

The Noble Marine Rooster RS200 National Championships will be hosted by Hayling Island Sailing Club, 21st-25th August 2022, and have reached and exceeded the 75-boat entry milestone 5 months before the event, reflecting the ongoing popularity of the UK’s leading double-handed sailing dinghy and the confidence in HISC to deliver a superb championship. “With the new prize draw in place, we hope we can encourage all the other sailors that we know are thinking of entering to get their act together and get their entries in by 31st March” said Sally, “early entry really helps the class and club prepare and deliver the best possible event.”

The Noble Marine Rooster RS400 National Championships takes place at East Lothian YC, 8th-12th August. Rooster’s Steve Cockerill, who was one of the first to enter, says “East Lothian Sailing Club offers a traditional Scottish Welcome.  The air is fresh, the sea is clean and a number of great sailing areas can be used depending on the wind direction.  The boat park is on the grass a short walk from the harbour where a cosy, welcoming club house is situated.  Launching is easy on a sandy beach which is sheltered by all but a Northerly and a bustling main street is a short walk away.  The waves can vary greatly depending on wind direction, so every day is a challenge, but the evening walks along the sandy beaches as the sun sets, does it for me.”

What a fabulous Summer of RS Sailing to look forward to!
