The penultimate stop on the southern tour at Lee on the Solent saw a fleet of 13 sailors. Slightly reduced due to the Europeans in Garda next week but certainly not lacking in talent.
Day 1, standing from onshore, the force 3-4 northerly breeze seemed perfect! However, on as the land began to heat up, it turned into a thermal battle that resulted in a force 1-4 northerly varying 180 degrees. This resulted in close racing all day where no position was safe. Steve and Sarah Cockerill won the first day picking up 2 bullets and a second.
Day 2 had a very similar weather set up to the first. Sean Cleary and Annalise showed good form to take 2 bullets and a fourth in fluky conditions. The highlight of the day was from newbies Andy Read and Alex Cory (from the RS600 fleet) who managed to finish race 5 upside down!
Steve and Sarah Cockerill took the win overall counting three bullets. They were closely followed by Steve and Chris Stubs who were extremely consistent despite the fluky wind counting 4 seconds and a first. Sean Cleary and Annalise came in third counting 2 bullets.
