Results / RS400 Open Training Parkstone YC - 15/04/2023
After a week of extremely windy weather which would deter all but the most enthusiastic and confident trainee, the 8 boats and their crews booked to join the RS400 training day supported by the Class associations were surprised and pleased to see that Saturday 15th April dawned dry(ish), sunny(ish), but just about spot on wind for training - between 6/7 and about 13 knots. 7 boats from the local fleet were joined by a visitor from HISC and all of us benefited from Paul Oakey's experience and relaxed, but expert coaching.
Starting at about 10, boats were rigged, adjusted, and set up - particularly those of two new Parkstone members who've bought brand new bought boats and moved across from other fleets before we all went afloat to work on trim, upwind and downwind skills in Poole Harbour. Later, we enjoyed a few short races to put what was learned into practice before repairing ashore. Sadly there are no on the day photos as we were all working too hard on improving our skills but here are some pictures of our fleet on our lovely home waters.
Thanks to Paul, our volunteer rib driver, the Class Association and to Parkstone YC for supporting us.
